Richard Roig Roig

I joined the military right out of high school and returned to Spokane after my service and used my GI Bill to complete training to become a Journeyman Carpenter. In 1984 I was hired at the Cheney Fire Department as a Firefighter and retired in 2015 as a Battlion Chief.
I met my wife Vickie in 1977 and we were married in '78. We have three kids and eight grandkids. We spend a fair amount of time with six of them who live in Texas as well as two whom we are lucky to have in Spokane.
Through the years I've enjoyed playing in softball leagues, coaching my kids in youth baseball, league bowling, poker, and my obsession - golf!

Senior year memory:
Having just aquired a case of Oly, Harry and I stopped at A&W for a burger before our beer and got busted by the Sheriff. The good news is that we didn't get pulled in, but the bad news is that the Sheriff made us dump all 24 cans in the parking lot, to the amusement of all of the patrons.
