I wanted to add that I was diagnosed with Bone Cancer, but I am on a maintenance recovery. I feel great and the doctors tell me this is something that I will never be over it but can keep it maintained. It all started with a blood clot in my left leg in the year 2017. A total of six years and going strong!

School Story

Worked at several different jobs from 1974-1986 in Spokane, moved to Seattle and found a job from 1986-1989. 1989 I was in a pedestrian (me) and a vehicle accident and broke a bone in my right knee and had screws put in, which I still have to this day, that is in Seattle. Moved back to Spokane to recover until September and then moved to Colorado. I married in 2002 and am still married to a wonderful guy. We have 2 dogs, one of which is a beautiful Malenwa Shepherd and a new puppy which he turned 8 months old today, the 14th of March. He is a mix of Great Pyrenees and Anatollin Shepherd. When he gets full grown he will be at least 120 pounds and 30" at the shoulders. He's already at my hips! I'm only 5'2" tall now. I keep in contact with quite a few friends from school. I visit Spokane at least once a year or twice if I can to visit my mom and dad which he passed at 94 in 2021. Mom is still doing great at 91. I don't do much traveling. I live in the woods with my husband and dogs, at close to 9000 feet. I love it. So many wild animals to see that come onto the property. I miss being close to a real lake. These are resivors here. Can't wait to see everyone! Take care and be safe!

This photo was at Arbor Crest a few days after our 50th class reunion. Disregard the people in the background.

I always thought you were a nice, friendly, pretty gal in school! I didn't like school, either! You'd be lucky to see me in most classes. I would hang out in study hall or in the bathrooms. I'm surprised my grades were well enough to get me graduated! You sound like you finally found what you were looking for in life! Very interesting! I try once in a while to learn Spanish, but I still don't know anything to speak or understand what someone is saying. I had the opportunity to go to Costa Rica, on the Pacific side. I was a nanny for a couple my sister's husband knew. They paid my way and it was beautiful and interesting. Our house keeper spoke total Spanish, but we managed to commute with each other. We lost track of each other after I left. I held a few jobs in Spokane after graduating. I even tried waitressing at IHOP for barely a week. The teachers from high school came in, a table for about 20+ and I was in training and had to deal with them by myself at the beginning until I started to mess things up and couldn't handle it. The girls that were training me decided to go out for a smoke and leave it all to me! When I got through that, I said I quit and walked out. I had been working at Ron's Drive In and thought I could make more money waitressing. Decided that wasn't for me. Eventually I worked at Safco Insurance in the valley for seven years. My sister talked me into moving to Seattle so I ended up working in an insurance company, there, for three years until I got into an accident. I was walking in a crosswalk at night, wearing dark clothes, under not well lit lights. A Blazer with a young couple came around the corner of where I was, and hit me. I ended up breaking a bone below my right knee. Eventually went back to Spokane and recuperated at mom and dads. My sister moved to Colorado with her husband and she wanted me to move here. Between the two places, I was in Seattle from 1986-1989. I have been in Colorado for at least 30 years. Loving it here!

There have been a few jobs I've worked here; a couple of drug stores then I found a job at a plumbing and heating New and used parts place. That's where I met my husband. He taught me everything I know about plumbing. After five years that I was there, the boss decided to retire and close the business. Dave new of another sales person in the plumbing business and mentioned we were looking for work. I ended up in the warehouse pulling, packing and shipping orders and Dave was put onto computers where he had no idea of what he was doing. His father had passed in the meantime and Dave decided he wanted to retire after working there for less than a year. I had been there for 13 years until I ended up with a blood clot in my left leg. Within a year later I was diagnosed with Bone Cancer caused from my blood clot. I've been going through treatments for five years and doing well. The doctor says I'm in maintenance and likes my results. I've done well with the treatments and the chemo I had. This is something I won't get over but I'm a fighter and I've tried to change up my eating habits. Feeling better for that.

When I married my husband, he had been living up in a canyon that we're close to 9000'. We are renting a two bedroom house on five acres of property; at the end of a cauldasak(?). It's fun being in an environment that we have deer, moose; which I almost got run into by one. Also, we have big cats (cougars), bob cats, fox and bear. Plus humming birds, squirrels, assorted other birds. In other words, a lot of critters! I love it! We are not hunters and you aren't supposed to hunt up here.

I quit skiing years ago but wish I could get back out there again. We have a lower ski resort just 30-40minutes from us. Lots of good skiing else where, though.

I hope to see you at the reunion! I will be staying with my mom in Green acres. She's 91 and still doing great! She drives but not too far. I come to help her take care of anything she might need done and to hang with her. She is still so cool! I have a neice that lives close by with her husband and family so they help her when ever she needs it.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and miss all of those who have passed. So young. Take care Val and say hello to Mike. He probably doesn't remember me. That's ok.
